IKEA thoughts on child-rearing

I'm back!

Here he is- a bit bedraggled and very wet, but ok. Thanks to St Anthony for finding our little dog. He wasn't gone long, but it was raining very heavily and he hates getting wet, so when we hadn't responded to my and Roo's impassioned calls, i began to picture all kinds of worst-case scenarios. And i realised i'd really miss him if he wasn't around.
(By the way, Maria, he and your dog share their name!)

'I can cook!' Here's Roo making another lovely meal from CBeebies' great show, I Can Cook. So far he has made Savoury Bites, Easy Peasy Pizza and today, Katy's Lasagne. All very tayshty and eaten eagerly -even the green bits. I never thought I'd hear him say, 'mmm, chives!' before popping the offending green (and suspiciously oniony) morsel into his mouth.
Quite remarkable.

Old project beagnach criochnaithe,

A dry morning, autumn walk with my boys, last honeysuckle (woodbine to Granny) in the air, berries lining our route, rosehips, sloes, elderberries and of course, blackberries (to go!).

3 year old laughter and surprise, strawberry jelly with sprinkles, cupcakes with strawberry jam and cream, oozy chocolate icing, birthday candles

Bab bab bab. Ffffff. Baby noises. First language.

Lovely news from the other side of the world. Talking baked beans happily gobbled up. Sweet pea scent.

Bellinis, baby belly laughs, raspberry cream Victoria sponge, messages from friends, Roo saying 'Hup, hup hooray' after the Happy Birthday to you song... all adds up to my Birthday!
